Iowa Health Information Management Association Scholarships
The Iowa Health Information Management Association recognizes the importance of promoting the excellence of students entering the health information management profession. Each year the Iowa Health Information Management Association awards scholarships to one or more individuals who have achieved certain educational goals in the field of health information management.
If you have met the following criteria, you are eligible to apply for a scholarship:
- Iowa resident (may be enrolled in an out-of-state program, but classified as an Iowa resident)
- Enrolled in an AHIMA-approved HIT/Associate Degree program, eligible in the last year of the program.
- Enrolled in an AHIMA-approved HIT/HIM, eligible in the last half of the program.
- An RHIT progressing to RHIA in an AHIMA-approved HIA/HIM program or a health information related field.
- A student enrolled in an approved Master's degree program in a health career field related to the health information management profession.
- A student enrolled in an AHIMA-approved Coding certificate program that follows AHIMA model curricululm.
- The student must be enrolled as a full-time or part-time student as defined by the program.
- The student may receive an award only one time per level of degree.
- Academic/grade record of not less than 3.0 on a 4.0 scale.
- Member of the American Health Information Management Association.
