Message from IaHIMA Nominating Committee — “Wanted” President-Elect
Hello IaHIMA Friends!
As the Christmas holiday draws near, we encourage you to take a moment from your busy work lives to reflect on what you are thankful for. The Board is especially grateful for wonderful members like you, and we wish you a great holiday season and a Happy New Year.
In the months leading up to our 2026 Annual Meeting, we will be sending out monthly updates on board positions that are open for you to run for and/or to nominate a friend you think would be a good fit.
IaHIMA President-Elect: Position Overview:
The role of President-Elect is an elected position requiring a three-year commitment on the IaHIMA Board of Directors. This commitment includes:
Year 1: President-Elect
Year 2: President
Year 3: Past President
This position requires an approximate time commitment of 20 hours per month.
The responsibilities include:
Serving as a member of the Board of Directors
Acting in the President’s absence at meetings
Attending the AHIMA Leadership Symposium and providing a subsequent report
Attending the AHIMA Conference
Serving as an IaHIMA Delegate at the AHIMA House of Delegates
Chairing the Bylaws Committee
Creating the board roster and yearly schedule
