Anna Marie Kish, BSN, RN, ARNP, NP-C
Ms. Kish was born, raised, and educated in Pittsburgh PA. She received her BSN and Nurse Practitioner education at the University of Pittsburgh and is certified in Primary Care by the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners. She had the honor of serving our nation’s veterans, having worked for the Department of Veterans Affairs in Pittsburgh and Florida for 31 years.
In preparation for the implementation of ICD-10, Ms. Kish has been active in educating Health Information Professionals in Anatomy and Physiology since 2011. She developed and taught the “Anatomy and Physiology Refresher for ICD-10 CM/PCS”, offered by various HIMS organizations. She has presented A&P educational sessions at the Iowa Health Information Management Association annual meeting in 2011, and Pennsylvania Health Information Management annual meetings in 2012 and 2013, as well as a 5-session A&P presentation at 2012 Optum Essentials Coding, Billing, and Compliance Conference, and will present there again in 2013.
Ms. Kish co-presented the “ICD-10 PCS Root Operations” Audio series for PHIMA in 2012-2013. She is an OptumInsight consultant, and has taught “Comprehensive Anatomy and Physiology for ICD-10-CM and ICD-10-PCS Coding” to Health Information Professionals at Thomas Jefferson University and University of Pittsburgh Medical Center.
