Audubon County Memorial Hospital & Clinics
Audubon County Memorial Hospital is a 25-bed Critical Access Hospital in Audubon, Iowa, operating two physician clinics and a robust outpatient specialty clinic.
We were recently named a “Top 20 Critical Access Hospital” in the nation out of the more than 1,300 critical access hospitals in the nation by the National Rural Health Association.
The Top 20 Critical Access Hospital recognition is given to those hospitals who have achieved success in overall performance based on eight indices of strength including inpatient market share, outpatient market share, quality, outcomes, patient perspectives, costs, charges, and financial stability.
Accountable for conversion of diagnoses and treatment procedures into codes using an international classification of diseases. Requires skill in the sequencing of diagnoses/procedures to optimize reimbursement. Ensures that records are coded in an accurate and timely manner. This person will be responsible for coding for both Rural Health Clinics and Emergency Department, as well as other hospital coding as assigned.
High School graduate or equivalent. Knowledge of diagnoses/procedures in accordance with ICD-9-CM and ICD-10-CM coding principles for both acute and skilled nursing facilities. Ability to work with physicians and other coworkers in a collaborative manner.
Experience as a coder preferred.
Certification in HIM, including RHIT, CCS, or CPC.
ACMH participates in the Iowa Public Employees Retirement System (IPERS). 5.95% of the employee’s gross wages are withheld from each paycheck and sent to IPERS along with 8.93% percent of the employee’s gross wages that are contributed by the hospital.
Full-time and regular part-time employees of ACMH are eligible for coverage on the first of the month following the completion of thirty (30) days of employment.

Employees of the hospital are eligible for benefits derived from short-term disability (STD) and long-term disability plans. Employees are eligible after continuous employment for 6 months a must work a minimum of 22 hours per week, or 44 hours per pay period. The hospital pays the premium for Life, AD&D, short-term disability, and long term disability.

Paid Time Off
ACMH provides for vacation, personal, and sick time in the form of paid time off (PTO). Employees begin earning PTO immediately and are eligible to use their PTO following successful completion of the orientation period. Non-exempt employees earn PTO at the rate of 5.769 per pay period. Exempt Employees earn PTO at the rate of 7.692. PTO accrual rates increase after every five years of service.
In addition to PTO, employees receive seven paid holidays off. Holidays include New Year’s Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day and your birthday.
Employees and their families receive free membership to the ACMH Fitness Center, which is open to the public.
