Message from IaHIMA Nominating Committee — Wanted Director

Hello IaHIMA Members!

Our Annual Meeting is approaching fast on April 16-17th. This year’s theme is Riding the Waves of Change!

We are so excited to see all of you at our Annual Meeting in West Des Moines at the Sheraton!  Registration is open so please go to the IaHIMA website and get your spot reserved!  Here is a link to the IaHIMA home page for more details.

In the months leading up to our 2026 Annual Meeting, we will be sending out updates on board positions that are open for you to run for and/or to nominate a friend you think would be a good fit.

Currently, we are looking for motivated individuals interested in serving as the IaHIMA Director for the 2026-2027 term.

Director Position Details:

This is an elected position with a two-year term, requiring approximately 5 hours of commitment per month. The time commitment can vary as you get closer to the date of the Annual Meeting.

The responsibilities include:

  • Planning the Annual Meeting-First Year Director plans the menu and works to get vendors interested in attending.

  • Second Year Director selects the speakers for the Annual Meeting, works with the venue for room layout, and plans the Agenda, along with the help of the First Year Director.

  • First and Second Year Director will tour any locations being vetted for the following year’s Annual Meeting location and will work on securing a contract.

  • Attend monthly Board meetings and touch base with the Board of Directors to keep them updated on the status of the Annual Meeting.

  • First Year Director attends the AHIMA House of Delegates as an IaHIMA delegate.
